Beautiful, bold and yet delicate Bronze Sukhothai style Thai Buddha Hand in the "STOP EVIL", ("STOPPING EVIL") OR "HOLDING BACK THE WATERS" (Waters of evil influence) Hand Pose. Museum mounted for display. A great piece of South East Asian Art. A famous yet Rare 14/15th Century Style (reproduction) Thai bronze Buddha Hand statue . A lovely piece depicting Buddha's hand in the "Stopping the evil of the world" also known as "All Evil Stops here" pose. Buddha's hand stops the rushing waters of evil from influencing him. He stops evil so that he can obtain true enlightenment. This statue is very beautiful and desirable for any collector. It has a rich and complex dark green patina. It's a nice size at; almost 10" high Including Base x 3.25" wide x 6" deep. (see photo) Model # BD171 A truly wonderful piece!
