My wife helps me with trying to downsize years of collecting! Our home is a non-smoking home but we do have a pet. All items must be paid for within 7 days of the auction end date including mailing of a money order. Offered is a very interesting old Ivory netsuke of a dog. The carving is interesting in the way the fur is displayed. The smooth areas of the middle portion of the dog show the rib bones. It looks like a dog of great importance as Imperial or belonging to royalty in nature. It stands about 2 1/2" tall and is about 1" wide at the mid-back area. It is in very good vintage condition. I do not see any cracks or chips. This came from my parents estate and they collected fine Asian antiques. I do believe this was definitely from the pre-ban era for old Ivory. I am guessing it is probably Japanese. This would be a great addition to a collection of netsuke items. I will be listing 2 other pieces from this estate and may list more this coming month.
