Hi You are bidding on a very good used Spring applied magnetic release dc 24 volt brake , I have dismantle ,clean up make visual inspection prime and paint the body , the brake disc and both brake plate did not show any wear and tear and did not has any brake dust inside , since they were use as a static brake they didn't wear see the parts picture . You can use it at 12 volt by replacing the coil spring with a weaker one.It will gave you about 60% the braking power . It as a manualy operated release brake so you can release the brake without any current by pulling or pushin the little tab .That tab as a little hole to receive a cable same as use on a bicycle brake system.The shaft you want to stop or hold can pass entirely through the magnetic brake assembly if it is less than 13 mm OD When power is applied the brake is disabled allowing a spindle/shaft to turn. Remove power and the brake is applied stopping the shaft from rotating It was use with a small worngear connect to a continous dc 24 volts 300 watts 2000 rpm motor . One of the largest european motor maker Leroy Somers use them . The rated torque is 2.5 MN and the winding resistance is around 48.5 ohm . Nice to use in conjonction with those kollmorgen kollmorgan motor bike hobby application . Last picture illustrate a 24 volt dc brushless bidirectional koll's motor with a 10to1 Leroy Somer wormgear and the magnetic brake On an electric riding mower I use one with the same motor at 36 vdc 3000+ rpm but I kept the 24vdc supply for the brake , I use it as a dynamic brake as well as a static brake it works very fine since the weight is around 500 pounds and the maximun speed is only 5 kilometer per hour.The braking power is propotional to the removed current .I made some current test here is the result .the resistance is 48.4 ohm .It take .5 amps at 24 vdc ( 12 watts ), completely disengage ( free rotating disc ) .It take .36 amps at 18 vdc ( 6.48 watts ), seems completely disengage ( free rotating disc ) .it take .26 amps at 12 vdc ( 3.12 watts ), partialy disengage i mean able to move the disc but not able to rotate it by fingers. I think you should use a small fuse may be less than 1 amps I am not sure of the size . The brake assembly come complete with 3 4mm mounting screw ,2 foot wire and hexagone 30 mm sleeve you can put on your shaft . that hexagone sleeve who fit inside the disk brake is bore to 10 mm and lock with a roll pin 3.5mm , you can easely bore up to i would say 20mm , thickness is 8 mm .Shipping weight 2.5 poundsI do have some more different model let me know your need if it can help I can list them .Shipping & Handling Canada and United States $18. Il a ete demonter nettoyer et reassembler , il n'y avait pas de poussiere de frein et aucun signe d'usure , le disque de frein ainsi que les plateau de frottement ne demontre aucune usure mesurable . Le frein est appliquer par la pression exercer par le ressort et est enlever par effect magnetique compressant le ressort lorsque le frein est energiser . La sleeve hexagonale fourni avec le frein doit etre monter sur l'arbre a freiner , cette sleeve est perforer a 10mm et pourrait etre agrandi a environ 20mm selon vos besoin , elle est bloquer sur votre arbre a l'aide d'une goupille ou roolpin de 3.5mm inclus . Vous pouvez passer completement l'arbre a freiner a travers le frein en autant qu'il soit plus petit que 13 mm . La derniere photo illustre l' assemblage de ce frein sur un gear box worm gear 10:1 a vis sans fin leroysomer lequel est entrainer par un moteur bidirectionel electrique 24 volt cc sans balai de velo de velo , ce qui permet une puissance de freinage multipier par 10 sur l'arbre de sortie .Si vous rechercher une tel boite a engrenage a vis sans fin demander et je listerai j'en ai quelques un . Le frein peu etre utiliser a 12 voltCC en changeant le ressort par un plus faible , toutefois il perdra environ 40% de sa puissance de freinage J'utilise depuis un an un frein similaire sur une tondeuse a siege a moteur thermique converti electrique , le frein est utiliser en mode dynamic et static alimenter en 24 volt cc monter sur un moteur 24vcc 2000 rpm lequel est alimenter en 36volt cc a plus de 3000 rpm , le poid total tondeuse/utilisateur est environ 500 livres et la vitesse maximale 5 kilometre heure et le tout se comporte a merveille .poid d'expedition 2.5 livres . Le frein peu etre enlever manuellement sans aucune source electrique en poussant ou en tirant sur la petite languette , cette derniere comporte un petit trou prevu pour utilisation avec cable comme le cable a frein d'une bicyclette .
